The terms, stated plainly.

Clauset (“we”, “us”) operates clauset.shop, a curated index for independent designers and makers in Southeast Asia. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. Business and registration details are published at the bottom of this page.

Clauset is a marketplace, not the maker. Pieces are made, priced, stocked, and shipped by the independent brands listed here. When ordering goes live, your purchase contract is with the brand that made the piece; we provide the platform, take the payment on their behalf, and hold them to the standards in our seller agreement. Where the law makes the platform jointly responsible to consumers, we accept that responsibility.

Seller accounts are created by us when a brand is onboarded. Keep your password to yourself, use a strong one, and tell us immediately if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it is compromised.

Prices are shown inclusive of any tax that applies at the point of sale, as required by the Prices of Goods and Services Act B.E. 2542. Shipping, duties, and import charges are shown separately before you commit. You can switch the display currency; that conversion is indicative only — the amount actually charged is the settlement amount shown at checkout. If a price is obviously wrong (a mispriced listing), we or the brand may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than honour it.

Ordering is not live on Clauset yet — the cart and checkout you can see are not taking payment. When it goes live: a listing is an invitation to buy, not an offer. Your order is an offer to buy, and the contract forms when we send you an order confirmation by email. Under the Electronic Transactions Act B.E. 2544 that electronic confirmation is as binding as a signed one. If a piece turns out to be unavailable after you order, we cancel and refund in full.

Selling online in Thailand is direct marketing under the Direct Sales and Direct Marketing Act B.E. 2545, which gives you the right to withdraw from a purchase within seven days of receiving the goods, by written notice, without giving a reason. Return the piece unused and in the condition you received it and you get your money back. This right sits on top of — not instead of — your rights when something arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, which are unaffected by anything on this page.

Beyond the statutory seven days, we give you thirty days from delivery to change your mind about any piece. Made-to-order and personalised pieces may be excluded from change-of-mind returns; where that applies it is stated on the listing before you buy. Nothing is excluded when a piece is faulty, damaged in transit, or not what was described — tell us within a reasonable time and we will arrange a repair, replacement, or refund. Delivery times shown on a listing are the maker's estimate, not a guarantee. Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave. For cross-border orders you may be the importer of record and responsible for duties and taxes in your country; where we can calculate them we show them before you pay.

The site design, wordmark, editorial writing, and code are ours. Product photography, brand names, and product copy belong to the brands, who license them to us to display and promote under the seller agreement. Do not reuse any of it commercially without written permission from whoever owns it.

Brands warrant to us — under the Seller Agreement — that their listings are accurate, their goods are legal to sell, and they own or are licensed to use every image and word they upload. We review pieces before they go live, but a review is not a guarantee: if something on the site is wrong, misleading, or infringes your rights, tell us and we will act on it.

We aim to keep the site up, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features. Planned downtime will be announced where we can.

We are responsible for loss that we cause and that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms. We are not responsible for business losses, lost profit, or losses we could not have foreseen. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act B.E. 2522 and the Product Liability Act B.E. 2551.

How we handle personal data — and your rights over it under the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 and, if you are in Europe, the GDPR — is set out in the privacy policy.

Come to us first — Contact — and we will try to resolve it directly; that is faster than anything else on this list. If we cannot, consumers in Thailand can raise the matter with the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB, 1166) or bring a consumer case in the Thai courts. These terms are governed by Thai law, and the Thai courts have jurisdiction. Nothing here takes away a mandatory right you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.

We may update these terms — the date at the top changes when we do. Orders already placed are governed by the version in force when you placed them.
